Vic Campus - Centre d'Osona

This campus was created in 1976, in accordance with the policies of cultural decentralisation prevailing in Europe at the time, with the aim of providing a local space for cultural training and production in this area. This branch of the Institute has recently inaugurated its new, centric headquarters in the historic Seminari Vell de Vic, with modern facilities and the Sala Laboratori , a multipurpose theatre space. This centre provides an excellent initiation to theatre for secondary school students.

Its educational programme includes:

• Introductory theatre courses
• Introductory dance courses
• Theatre workshop programmes for secondary schools in the Province of Barcelona, in collaboration with the ODA and the town councils participating in the project
• Studies in theatre pedagogy (currently being developed)
• Different seminars and specialised courses

Its other main lines of action are the dissemination and promotion of the performing arts in the immediate geographical area, namely, Vic and the municipalities of the County of Osona, as well as the organisation of various general activities and initiatives such as the International Dance Day, the Theatre Text Awards, the Trobada de Grups de Teatre theatre festival, the 'Nits del lloro' (summer outdoor theatre) and the programming at the Teatre Laboratori, in conjunction with the IMAC (Municipal Institute for Cultural Action) of the Vic City Council.
